First Stage: Anime Movie Synopsis: In a blighted, soulless town north of Tokyo in Gunma Prefecture, disaffected youths drag souped-up cars in illegal street races. Seventeen-year-old petrol pump attendant Itsuki dreams of saving up enough to buy his own set of wheels and join the Akina Speedy Stars gang, fellow garage worker Iketani boasts of his prowess, and their manager occasionally regales them with tall tales about the fastest man on the mountain. This shadowy figure is actually their shy friend Takumi, who breaks the speedy limit each dawn to keep the deliveries fresh for his father's tofu shop, enjoying the occasionally unwelcome advances of Natsuki, a pragmatic local who pays the bills with subsidized dating.
2nd Stage: Description: In Initial D: Second Stage, 18-year old Takumi Fujiwara's adventures with his father's Toyota Trueno AE86 continue. Takumi has succeeded in winning against the undefeated street racer, Ryosuke Takahashi. But now a group of Lancer Evolution-driving guys called the Emperors have set their sights on dominating the Gunma area. They'll have to beat both Takumi and Ryosuke to do it!
3rd Stage: Description: Initial D is basically the story of a young man and his father's Toyota Trueno AE86 (known in the US as a Toyota Corolla). 18-year old Takumi Fujiwara has been delivering tofu every single day down Mt. Akina with his dad's car ever since he was in middle school. It's not exactly something he likes to do, but in the whole process he unwittingly masters a lot of advanced driving techniques which makes him the fastest driver down Mt. Akina. Soon Takumi catches the attention of street racers, and he gets challenged to races down Mt. Akina time and time again -- which he always manages to win. But Takumi's ultimate challenge comes in the person of Ryosuke Takahashi, Japan's number one street racer. Ryosuke has devoted a lot of time and effort in coming up with a foolproof strategy to beat Takumi, and he's got everything riding on their final showdown.
